Luxe Paw Home Groom Consent Policy Form

READ CAREFULLY

For a Full Home Groom Service We ask anywhere between 2-4 hours for the groom to be completed, and ask that the owner must be present within an hour of the groom’s completion. If you are not able to be present within an hour of the groom’s completion, please make sure you call the number provided (703)-725-0706, to let us know when you will arrive. Pets that are left for an hour longer in the groomers care ( Without notification) and incurring a charge of $10.00 per hour will be added. If you aren’t able to pay for the full groom, police will be called and a report will be filed 

Your groomer will let you know, either through person, text, or phone call of any changes in the appointment. Clients are responsible for ensuring we have the correct phone number on file for the groomer to contact. 

VACCINATIONS. All Dogs and Cats are required to be up to date with Rabies vaccines and be on flea and tick prevention if they are outdoors. Proof of vaccination may be submitted digitally or in person. If your pet receives titer checks in lieu of annual vaccines, you are required to provide an up to date titer report. If your pet no longer receives vaccines due to a medical condition or age, a veterinary note waiving vaccinations will need to be submitted. 

We do not groom dogs or cats that have been vaccinated within the 48 hour mark, due risk of symptoms after the vaccination. Typically can show signs of being drowsy ,lethargy, drooling, a low-grade fever, reduced appetite, and swelling or soreness in the injection site. If upon arrival of the appointment and the dog is showing signs of any of these symptoms, Groomers are allowed to refuse to continue with the service and will advise you to take your pet to your vet.   

HEALTH/MEDICAL PROBLEMS & SENIOR PETS.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical condition or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. The Pet’s owner, upon agreement to these terms, will cover all medical expenses for veterinary care. We also reserve the right to refuse service to customers whose pet might pose a threat to us or to the other animals, whether it’s a behavioral problem or a health problem. Any previous or current injuries, illnesses or allergies MUST be disclosed to the groomer and documented in the Q&A form so that we can best take care of your pet and keep other pups safe. Owners Must Inform that if their pet is on any medication, oral, or topical, This lets the Groomer be informed of the medication and can prepare if there are any symptoms. But groomers are not responsible for health issues or injuries caused by the medication that the pet is given.  

SENIOR PETS: Grooming procedures can sometimes be especially stressful for senior dogs or cats with health problems. We created an age restriction of Ages 4months- 15years

Senior Pets are considered ages 10-15 years Old   

Due to Age senior Dogs and Cats with health problems have a greater risk of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort as Luxe Paw Groom Home will not compromise any pet’s health and/or well-being to achieve “the perfect groom”. The pet owner must advise us of any medical, physical, or emotional issues; allergies, sensitivities, or preexisting conditions. These conditions may include, but are not limited to; prior surgeries, hip and/or joint issues, arthritis, warts, moles, ear infections, skin problems, etc. The owner will also inform us of new conditions as they arise. Luxe Paw Groom Home will not be responsible for accidents or injuries to elderly or health-compromised pets during their grooming.If you allow your senior dog or cat to be groomed by one of the stylist of Luxe Paw Groom Home, You must Initial to consent, and agreeing to terms and conditions before proceeding with the groom service 

ACCIDENTS/MEDICAL EMERGENCIES. 

Although accidents are rare, there is always a risk when dealing with animals. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution in all situations, possible problems could occur if your pet is wiggling or moving around. This may include cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. Your pet’s comfort and safety is our number one priority. In the event that an accident occurs, you will be notified of the accident immediately. If Luxe Paw Home Groom feels that the accident is serious, and the owner is not available, we will seek immediate veterinary care at the nearest location provided. And Luxe Paw Home Groom Services will pay 50% of the charged vet bill 

In extremely rare occasions, if there is a death during and after 48hr grooming service to your pet that a groomer worked on. The Groomer And Luxe Paw Home Grooming is not responsible for any pet deaths. We will send our condolences and check up on how you are doing. 

AGGRESSIVE DOGS & CATS.

OwnersMUST inform Luxe Paw Home Groom if their dog or cat has bitten anyone, or is aggressive towards people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. If the owner fails to notify us of any potential danger or behavioral issue, you can and will be liable for all medical fees, out-of-work compensation, as well as any and all property damage.

In the event that your Pet becomes aggressive during the grooming session, Luxe Paw Home Groom reserves the right to refuse a specific service like nails, ear cleaning or anal glands. And in rare situations If a pet is felt to be exhibiting behavior that is unsafe regarding to itself or the groomer, we are allowed to stop the service completely, any time before or during the grooming session. All bites that draw blood will be reported to local authorities as required by law. If a pet is being difficult during the service and is taking longer than expected  we reserve the right to charge a special handling fee of up to $10.00, if necessary, for pets who have repetitive behavioral problems.

MATTED COATS: Pets with matted coats require extra attention. There is a greater risk of nicking, scratching, cuts, etc. A matted pet during the grooming process can cause extreme stress and skin complications. Typically the skin may appear red, itchy, and irritated due to the lack of oxygen reaching in and under the mats.

We will not be held responsible for any injury sustained while grooming a matted dog, including any after effects or injuries done. 

We recommend your pet stay on a regular 4-8 week grooming schedule with at-home brushing to avoid matting. And we will be more than happy to demonstrate effective brushing techniques with a comb and slicker brush for matting prevention at your request

If the matting is minimal and the pet responds well, we may brush them out. Depending on the severity of the matting, there may be an extra fee ($10-$20). 

If we do not believe we can safely remove the mats in a timely manner or if we feel your pet is in any pain or distress from the brushing, we will stop immediately. Luxe Paw Home Groom reserves the right to refuse grooming services with severe matting

We firmly believe grooming should be an enjoyable experience and will not put your pet through the discomfort of unnecessary de-matting. We will notify you before shaving your pet; however, if permission to shave down or go shorter is denied, your pet will not receive service and must be picked up as is. We will recommend you to vets that can safely sedate and shave your matted pet. We are happy to then set up another appointment to maintain your pets coats health.

If you allow your Matted dog or cat to be groomed by one of the stylist of Luxe Paw Groom Home, You must Initial to consent, and agreeing to terms and conditions before proceeding with the groom service 

FLEA/ TICKS: Any pets allowed outdoors must be on a flea and tick prevention if they are not, Luxe Paw Home Groom reserves the right to refuse grooming services to pets without prevention. If fleas or ticks are found on your pet, it is our policy to stop service, and contact you to see if you want to proceed with the service. If they are found in consultation, we will recommend a Flea and Tick baths at an additional cost of 40$ , but pets with fleas must be bathed immediately to avoid infestation of another pet. This cost covers the special shampoo bought and given to you to keep, time, and extra cleanup to ensure no fleas or ticks are active in the tub.Larger Ticks will be safely Plucked off and Disposed properly 

Flea shampoo will only kill the active fleas on your pet and will not prevent them from jumping back on your pet once they leave the building. If fleas are in the home or pet’s area, you will need to clean the entire space and wash all bedding, etc. to kill the fleas and ensure no re-infestation. If ticks are found on your pet and not attached, we will remove them, however, if attached and we do not feel we can safely remove them, we will refer you to your vet. We highly recommend your pet be on a regular monthly flea and tick preventative. For more information on Flea & Tick Prevention, please ask your groomer or vetIf you allow your dog or cat that contains fleas or ticks to be groomed by one of the stylist of Luxe Paw Groom Home, You must Initial to consent during consultation, and agreeing to terms and conditions before proceeding with the groom service 

SATISFACTION POLICY: Your satisfaction is important to us! If you are unhappy for any reason and would like something adjusted, we will be happy to make adjustments for you when you pick up your pet from his/her appointment. Once you take your pet home from the appointment, we will only accept return visits for adjustments free of charge 25 hours after your appointment. If you are unhappy with your haircut and it is too short to be adjusted, we may offer a discount on your next groom. Every groomer is different, and no two groomers groom the same, if you are unhappy with the style of your clip, you may ask to try another groomer for your next appointment. 

CANCELLATION/ NO SHOW POLICY: During consultation if you choose to schedule an appointment a 20$ deposit fee will be charged and paid that day of scheduling. The deposit is non- refundable. Because we book on an hourly basis and cancellations can leave an empty block in the schedule that could have been used by another customer, we ask that any rescheduling or cancellations be made at least 48 business hours in advance, and this is considered a “no call, no show”. You may reschedule before 48 hours and your original fee will  be credited to your next appointment  But if rescheduled within the 48 hour time frame, you will be required to pay another deposit fee to reschedule your appointment. We understand that things happen, and we try to be flexible which is why you will only be charged if it becomes repetitive.


  • At Luxe Paw Home Groom Prices are determined by size of breed, type of pet you have and the complexity of the service. In addition in certain conditions, there will be fees if pet is taking longer time then expected to work on or is getting a de-matting of any kind.

    With a Bath and a Hair Cut is considered a Full Service

    For Dogs You’ll be looking at 60-100$ max

    For Cats You’ll be looking at 120$ max

    For Exotics You’ll be looking at 35-30$ max

    This incudes the free consultation, our professional specialized services, our luxury hair cut of your choice, for use of our premium tools and materials, for the time and yrs of experience / profession. Our focus is to create a safe space for you and your pet, and at Luxe Paw Groom, the stylist will come to you

  • Your dog will be groomed at the presents of your own home, we will borrow your tub, or shower area to bath your dog or cat. For larger dogs I have a portable shower hose to do it outside. Clean up will be the Groomers responsibly. This is a small business using college funds to create a new innovated way for dog grooming.

    As for pet parents, Of course you can watch the process and how its done. We will educate and demonstrate everything that goes on. Now in some situations pets will typically get distracted by an owners presents in view of the pet. So we might ask if you can step back and watch the process where the pet cannot see or hear you. In those cases the stylist will update you on what is going on step by step if you are interested.

    Many other grooming places are fast pace, high stress and low quality. There is more room for danger in those environments and it creates an uncomfortable experience for your pet.

  • The time is determined by the services given.

    Dogs Full groom 2-4 hours

    Cat Full Groom 3-4 hours

    Exotic pets Full groom 30 Min- 1 hour

    Nails Typically take 10 mins for all pets

    Brushing services take around 20-30 mins

    Basic full bath for both Cats and Dogs 1-2hrs
